Camp Wizby - Not For Profit

I grew up here and this land has always been a source of reprieve and restoration. My parents became its custodians in the 1970's. They put the bulk of it into a land trust, and most of it remains wild. I moved up here full time in 2020 and it's been my mission to return it to a place that people can come and receive the same healing and reprieve so I established Camp Wizby. Our mission Statement: To provide free retreats in a natural setting for our local community and for any people who otherwise have no access or cannot afford to attend similar events. Retreats would include healing and restorative activities such as (not not limited to) cathartic breathwork, yoga, hiking, meditation and making and eating healthy food in a communal setting. In addition we envision hosting creative and craft, music and art workshops, communal gatherings.
How it Works: Camp Wizby fundraises to host these free events. Money raised covers costs such as (but not limited to) full fee’s for teachers and practitioners who would be paid their usual rates; food; and offset ant lodging costs - when events are longer than a day – and in some cases transportation.
Camp Wizby VT: Founded in 2021 and located at 564 Children’s Camp Rd, they offer tent sites and a few cabins for rent on HipCamp and Airbnb. They also have been hosting Camp Wizby Retreats, and have provided the land and facilities to outside enterprises to host these kind of events free of charge. They have hosted a few retreats that were a mix of bartering; paid attendance and scholarships. Camp Wizby VT will continue to host Camp Wizby Retreat Events though Camp Wizby Retreats may also host future events on other locations.
